Dallas Stars

Being raised in the DFW metroplex meant the Dallas Stars were always part of the region’s rhythm. This project challenged me to step into a creative role and imagine what I could contribute to the organization through my own perspective.

Influenced by design cues from vintage merch and reinterpreted through a retro-futuristic lens, the concepts explore two distinct creative directions.

  • Dystopia draws inspiration from Fahrenheit 451, 1980s sci-fi poster art, and post-apocalyptic retro-futurism. The concept embraces immersive, controlled chaos by layering distorted textures and glitch-inspired motion to create a sense of movement and tension while commanding the viewers attention.

  • Project 1999 taps into the energy of the Dallas Stars' 1998–1999 season and their first Stanley Cup win. The concept incorporates nostalgic visuals from camcorders and 35 mm film, alongside Gen X soft-club influences to create a familiar yet fresh look. As a counterpart to Dystopia, the campaign embraces warmth and nostalgia, offering a softer, more optimistic take on the Stars' identity.
